The Audacity of Dreaming and the Power of Losers (a must read) one of the commenters "qp" alerted me to this outrageous ruling by a California judge.
GET THIS:
"Parents who fail to [comply with school enrollment laws] may be subject to a criminal complaint against them, found guilty of an infraction, and subject to imposition of fines or an order to complete a parent education and counseling program."
Sort of like the communists did when they dumbed down their populations - easier to control them that way.

Folks, make no mistake about it, we are loosing more and more of our hard fought for freedoms. Freedom is not free!

This is just outrageous. I proudly homeschool our first grader, and he is thriving. This is going to infuriate a whole lot of people. James Dobson was all over it this morning on his radio show, which is heard worldwide by some outrageous number of people (fifty trillion listeners)?

It IS outrageous! Statistically home schooled children get a better education than those educated in the public schools. I have a couple of friends who have home schooled their children under some criticism at the time and when the children themselves decided they wanted to attend "real" school they were way ahead of their classmates, excited still about learning and were accepted at the finest universities in the country. Both graduated from Harvard, are happily married and thriving in the work world.
