From the Pen of David Horowitz: December 26, 2009 | NewsReal Blog

"...Those on the right, who are opponents of the Left, have questions too: How is it possible for progressives to remain so blind to the grim realities their ideas have created? How can they overlook the crimes they have committed against the very poor and oppressed they set out to defend? How can they have learned so little..."

"...We are creatures of grand and dazzling expectations. It is our glory and our weakness. It made us explore continents, fly to the Moon, defeat tyranny, create the greatest experiment with democracy ever embarked on. It also makes us vote for plausible idiots, marry people we think something they are not, pursue careers with no future, or imagine our darling children soldiers, poets, professors, evangelists or something else we aspire to for them..."

"... For myself, if the church splits, I neither want to join a communion that defines itself by its opposition to homosexuality nor stay with a group that's been high jacked by radicals now free to override every church tradition. And they have proved by their action that they will. I will probably be forced to find another denomination. I doubt I'll be alone".Andrew Klavan: Pride and Prejudice in the Episcopal Church - WSJ.com

Big Hollywood Blog Archive ZINN 101: A Radical’s History of the United States
"...Yet Zinn’s book is as ubiquitous in high school and university classrooms as sexual tension. His website proudly asserts that “no other radical historian has reached so many hearts and minds.” Well certainly, no other has darkened as many young hearts toward America and clouded as many young minds with utter disdain for facts and objectivity. Like his fellow academic cult figure Noam Chomsky and President Obama’s former associate and ghostwriter, unrepentant-terrorist-turned-radical-educator William Ayers, Zinn’s world view is powered by a relentless and hateful leftist fantasy: that the American government is and always has been racist, oppressive, warmongering, and ruthlessly exploitative, and that it must be subverted. And that subversion begins in classrooms all across America, which is why the left has worked so hard over the decades to imbed itself in America’s educational system..."

Obama's School Tsar's recommended reading for K-6, 7-12, and for teachers.

Gateway Pundit
The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.
